Strawberries benefit our Heart


Scientists at the University of Warwick in England, have discovered that natural chemicals in strawberries activate a protein called “Nrf2” that boosts antioxidant activity/which slows the aging process  in our bodies. It also lowers blood fats and cholesterol, helping to keep our arteries clear.

Eating stawberries has previously been found to steady post-meal blood glucose levels and reduce low density lipoproteins ( the bad cholesterol), and therefore, decrease risk of diabetes and heart disease; but this is the first time that strawberry extracts have been proved to actively stimulate proteins that offer protection against disease.
